For the past year I’ve been hiding in the forest north of Montreal painting my brains out. Inspired by Hilma af Klint’s channeled spiritualist paintings at the very beginning of abstraction, I chose the palette and metaphor of black & white & rainbows. I went back and forth between geometric and totally abstract forms. Some of the pieces were responses to music, some were illustrations of emotional events and others came out of meditation and dreams.
